Privacy policy

OhSoPretty (“we”, “us”) runs ohsopretty.sg, a guide to beauty studios in Singapore. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. We follow Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

What we collect

We only collect what you give us through a form, plus basic usage data:

• Newsletter: your email address.
• Contact form: your name, email and message.
• Booking requests: your name, phone number, optional email, the service and time you asked for.
• “Notify me” and “Report a problem”: your email (optional for reports) and what you reported.
• Business owners (add, claim or manage a listing): your name, email, phone, role, business details and anything you upload, such as photos.
• Usage data: pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location, collected through cookies and Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics. We also use a cookie to keep business owners and staff signed in.

Why we use it

• To send the newsletter you signed up for, with studio picks and deals.
• To reply to your message and send confirmation emails for what you submitted.
• To pass your booking request to the studio and tell you their answer.
• To review, verify and publish business listings, and to stay in touch with business owners about their listing and about services that can help their business grow.
• To prevent spam and abuse, and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal data. We share it only where needed to run the site:

• Studios you book with: they receive your booking request and contact details.
• Service providers who process data for us: Neon (database), Resend (email), GoHighLevel (our business-contact CRM), Google (Tag Manager and Analytics), Cloudflare (photo storage) and Hostinger (hosting). Some of them store data outside Singapore. Where they do, we rely on them to protect it to a standard comparable to the PDPA.
• Authorities, if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your data only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Newsletter subscribers are kept until you unsubscribe. Messages, booking requests and business records are kept while they’re useful for running the site and meeting legal obligations, then deleted.

Your choices and rights

• Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter, or by emailing us.
• Access or correct the personal data we hold about you.
• Withdraw consent and ask us to delete your data. Some requests, such as an active booking, may stop us from providing that service.
• Cookies: you can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. The site still works, but some features may not.

Security

We use encrypted connections, access controls and reputable providers to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, so if we ever have a breach that affects you, we’ll notify you and the PDPC as the PDPA requires.
